Yin Yoga is slow, paced, meditative, practice, focussing on deep relaxation and restoring energy by holding passive poses for 3 to 7 minutes. It targets connective tissues—joints, ligaments, and fascia—using props like bolsters and blankets to support the body, aiming to soothe the nervous system rather than build heat.

Key Aspects of Gentle Yin Yoga:
  • Purpose: Deep relaxation, stress reduction, and flexibility.
  • Approach: Passive, long-held floor poses (often 3-5+ minutes) using minimal muscular effort.
  • Props: Use blankets, blocks, and bolsters to support the body, allowing muscles to relax completely.
  • Target Areas: Hips, pelvis, and lower spine.
  • Environment: Calm, quiet, with dimmed lights to encourage internal focus.

Participants are asked to arrive no later than 15 minutes ahead of time in order to be set up.
